Antlerz Deer Antler Dog Chews are a section of naturally shed, 100% antler. (Actually, they are shed from whitetail deer, mule deer or elk.) This long-lasting, non-splintering, mineral-rich chew is excellent for heavy chewers and teething puppies. They hold up substantially longer than other traditional chews, approximately 8-10 weeks under normal wear. Also unlike a lot of other chews, antlers contain no plastics, chemicals, empty compacted starches or artificial flavors, only healthy calcium and phosphorus! Each one is sanitized to kill any bacteria that may be on the antler. And because they are a natural product, there will be variations in shape and diameter. Dogs absolutely love them... "Nature's own chew toy".

This chew toy is from a completely renewable source: deer antler. Wild deer shed their antlers once a year as part of a natural process, afterwhich the deer re-grow another set. These shed antlers are gathered by ranchworkers (80% wild shed from Texas, Montana and the Rockies to name a few areas) and transported to QT Dog’s manufacturing facility. Antlerz products are NOT a by-product generated by a meat processingfacility or slaughter house. The antlers are cutto the appropriate size, cleaned and packaged to produce Antlerz brand dog chews. Unlike processed livestock bones, Antlerz do not chip orsplinter when they are being used by even the most aggressive chewing dogs. Thedog’s chewing action slowly grinds down the antler with all tiny scrapings easily and safely digested.

You will notice that Antlerz brand deer antlers are more "weathered" than other brands, which means they are harder and will last longer than freshly shed antlers. Actually dogs prefer the taste of weathered antlers more because they have a "dead smell" detectable by the dogs; therefore, they are more palatable. Also, whitetail deer and mule deer antlers are more solid with thicker walls and less marrow. Elk antlers are more "spongy".

Antlerz are selected and cut to 5 different sizes:
Small: whitetail and mule deer
Medium: whitetail and mule deer
Large: whitetail and mule deer
Jumbo: elk, some whitetail and mule deer base
Monster: elk

NOTE: Always supervise your dog while chewing on an antler. More aggressive chewers might experience a little bleeding on the gums. If you see a little pink/blood on the antler, take it away from the dog and give his mouth some time to heal. On average put away the antler after a little while of chewing, so the dog has time to rest from the constant grinding. Think of it as more of a "special chew" so your dog will enjoy each time it is offered.

I love that these are naturally and non-violently harvested, and my dog LOVES them, better than any other expensive chew toy that I purchased for her. She went to doggie heaven right away, oblivious to anything else going on around her.
